A Short Portrait

Lakeview

On 1650 acres our family offers you a very special kind of ranch vacation. Every summer the blooming wildflowers transform our country into a sea of colors.

On our own property you can observe beavers building their dams and lodges. Other wildlife residents include Canadian geese, ducks, whitetail and mule deer, moose and coyotes. With some luck you may even catch a glimpse of wolves or bears.

Wildlife

Water enthusiasts can enjoy the crystal clear water of Horsefly Lake with motor boats, canoes or kayaks. Spring and fall offer extraordinary trout fishing opportunities on Horsefly Lake as well as the many smaller lakes. Nearby Horsefly River is a well kept secret for exceptional fly fishing.

The ranch gives shelter to many animals like wild boars, rabbits, chickens, cats, dogs, horses and cattle.

Winter holidays are something special at the Cariboo Country Inn. Enjoy cross country skiing, snow-shoeing, skating and ice fishing. Kick back and relax or read...

At the east end of Horsefly Lake you will discover rare interior rainforest, impressive waterfalls and sandy beaches. Abundant wildlife such as bald eagles, Peregrine falcon, moose, elk, deer, beavers, cougar, grouse, coyotes, foxes, wolves, bear and many more are at home in the Cariboo.

Every year Horsefly River becomes one of the most important spawning grounds for wild Sockeye salmon. This salmon run is one of the three most spectacular in the world.

Cariboo Country Inn operates January to March and May to October

We look forward to seeing you at the ranch.
